Top Job Platforms to Find the Right Talent for Your Company

As the job market becomes increasingly competitive, it’s more important than ever for your company to find the best talent. But with thousands of online job boards and platforms available, it can be overwhelming to know where to start. Whether you’re looking for remote workers, diverse candidates, or just the best fit for your team, there are a variety of job platforms available to help you find the right talent.

Here are 29 of the best websites to find remote talent, divided into my top 5 personal favorites, 9 specialized remote focused sites, 5 diversity-focused sites, and 10 bonus sites. I’ve also included traffic and cost information to help you make informed decisions.

My Top 5 Most Effective Job Boards for Hiring Top Talent

LinkedIn

LinkedIn is by far my preferred job board. With over 900 million members from 200 countries and regions worldwide, 16.2% of LinkedIn users are active daily.  According to LinkedIn, 49 million people search for jobs every week on the platform, and 8 people are hired every minute. SimilarWeb reports that there are over 1.6B monthly visits (United States – 31.3%, India – 6.8%, UK – 6%, Brazil – 4.2%, Canada – 3.9%, France – 3.5%, Germany – 2.7%, Netherlands – 2.3%, Spain – 2.2%, Italy – 2.2%).

Reasons why LinkedIn is my number one job board:

  • Targeted audience: LinkedIn allows you to promote your job ads to the exact audience you need, based on specific skills or locations. You can also indicate whether your job is remote, hybrid, or on-site. For any given job, I usually run a few ads targeting audiences in different countries and set up different budgets for each location to ensure I am getting the right number of candidates.
  • Access to passive candidates: Many LinkedIn users are not actively looking for jobs. By advertising on LinkedIn, you can reach these passive candidates who may be a good fit for your company.
  • Budget control: You know exactly what you are paying for on LinkedIn. If your ad is not bringing results, you can adjust it or switch it off completely. For example, you can set up a budget as low as €7 per day and get clear data on how many views, “Apply” clicks and actual applications that generate. For example, one of my recent recruitment campaigns for a Product Manager role in Portugal generated approx 400 views and 100 ”Apply’ clicks for each €7 spent. In the UK same ad generated approx 45 ”Apply” clicks for that budget. I usually set my LinkedIn budget at around €500 per role (some roles may be fine with just €200, whereas others, more complex, may need a much higher budget).
  • Insights and analytics: LinkedIn provides insights and analytics on your job postings, allowing you to see how many people have viewed your job, how many have clicked to apply, and other useful data that can help you optimize your recruitment strategy.
  • Professionalism: LinkedIn is a professional platform, and job seekers expect to see professional job postings on the site. By advertising on LinkedIn, you can show that your company takes recruitment seriously and is looking for top talent.
  • Brand awareness: Advertising on LinkedIn can also help to increase your company’s brand awareness. Even if a job seeker is not interested in the job you are advertising, they may be interested in learning more about your company.

Otta.com

Otta is a new platform that is taking the world by storm. It lists remote, hybrid, and office-based positions. Founded in 2019 in the UK, the team is rolling out new users country by country. Initially, they started in the UK and USA, which make up the majority of their users.

Otta offers an annual subscription for employers, and from my experience, pricing starts at $10k+. If you are looking for multiple roles per year, it’s worth it, as the platform provides a strong quality of candidates.

However, Otta also offers a free version; all you have to do is create an account and point the platform to your jobs page on your website. Otta will automatically scrape your jobs page. While your ad won’t be prioritized for users since it’s free, you’ll still receive a good number of applications.

Otta has an amazing UX/UI and uses AI technology to curate job listings from various sources. Job seekers can input their skills and preferred job functions, and Otta’s algorithm will present them with job opportunities that match their skills and preferences (think Tinder for jobs). Otta also includes features such as salary information, company reviews, and the ability to save job listings and set up job alerts. Although Otta is a relatively new platform compared to more established job boards, it has gained popularity for its user-friendly interface and personalized job recommendations.

According to Similar Web, Otta receives 3 million visits monthly (United Kingdom – 40.2%, United States – 33.7%, France – 2.5%, Germany – 2.3%, Turkey – 2.19%).

WeWorkRemotely

Weworkremotely is one of the most popular job boards specializing in remote work, with a variety of job categories and a large pool of job seekers. A basic job listing costs $299 per month. There are three upgrade options available: (1) Good – $59, (2) Better – $99, (3) Best – $149. These upgrades include features like displaying your company logo, job sharing in the WWR Slack Channel, job sharing on social media, highlights and pins, and features in their newsletter. From my experience, it’s worth spending an additional $149 for extra visibility, so I always budget $448 for Weworkremotely.

I also recommend disabling the automatic renewal option. If not disabled, you will be automatically charged for another month after the initial 30 days have passed. You can disable automatic renewal immediately after placing the ad.

Similar Web reports 1.5 million visits monthly (United States – 22%, India – 10.5%, Canada – 3.3%, Nigeria – 3.2%, Mexico – 2.3%).

Wellfound.com (former AngelList Talent)

Wellfound (Angel.co), previously known as AngelList Talent, focuses on startups and has 4.6 million monthly visits. It has a 33% audience from the USA, 26% from India, 4.5% from Canada, 3.2% from Nigeria and 2.8% from the United Kingdom.

Wellfound is a job board that specializes in startup jobs, particularly in the tech industry

WellFound offers a subscription-based model called “Recruit Pro” for employers looking to post job listings and access additional features. Recruit-Pro starts from $249 / month and also allows you to source from 8M profiles. It includes ATS integration with Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, and Workable

The company also offers exclusive supplementary feature called Curated, that provides direct access to pre-vetted software engineers, designers, product managers, data scientists, and sales professionals throughout the United States, especially in cities like San Francisco, New York, and Los Angeles.

Indeed

Indeed is one of the most popular job search engines that aggregate job postings from various sources. Most HRIS systems offer the option to publish jobs directly to Indeed as soon as they are added to your HR system. Alternatively, if you are not using an HRIS, you can create an account directly on Indeed and post jobs from there. Indeed features a wide range of job categories and allows job seekers to filter by location, job type, salary, and more. It also includes remote, hybrid, and on-site positions.

Indeed provides a flexible pay-per-click (PPC) model for sponsored job listings, which helps your job postings gain more visibility and rank higher in search results. With this model, you set a budget and only pay when a job seeker clicks on your sponsored job listing. This approach allows you to control costs while still ensuring that your job postings reach the right candidates

Indeed also provides a wealth of resources and tools for employers, such as an applicant tracking system (ATS) and the option to create a company profile page. The company profile page allows you to showcase your company’s culture, values, and benefits, helping you attract the right talent.

Additionally, Indeed offers a resume database, which allows you to search for candidates with specific skills, experience, and qualifications. Indeed’s analytics dashboard provides insights into the performance of your job listings, allowing you to track views, applications, and clicks. This data can help you refine your job postings and recruitment strategies to better target the right candidates.

As per Similar Web there are 551 million visits monthly (United States – 43.7%, United Kingdom – 8.7%, Canada 8.5%, France 3.78%, India – 3.49%)
